Yes, Holland America Line has a reputation
for silver-haired clientele, but think about it this way: Many
of these passengers have been cruising for several decades longer
than CruiseMon has been on this earth, and they are almost religiously
partial to Holland America Line. There's a good reason for their
dedication: Holland America's latest class of premium vessels
are very well appointed, with comfortable passenger accommodations
offering a surprisingly wide variety of amenities.
Just one example of this range, found aboard the Holland America
Line's Veendam: Ancient artifacts, a classical concerto and
a sip of wine can be found just a few feet down the hall from
the sports bar, a big screen TV, and a sizable pint of beer.
However this juxtaposition strikes you, the point is: you will
probably find some nook or cranny of a Holland America ship
that suits your tastes, whether you're a guttural beer-guzzler
or an erudite connoisseur.
And not that Holland America isn't extremely appreciative of
the older clientele that have fueled its history of success,
but these days, the company is rapidly moving towards a broader
group of passengers, with shorter cruises for less-ancient passengers.
So . . . honest . . . there are younger people here. No need
to brush up on your Scrabble game prior to departure.
PRICING:
Generally,
prices for Caribbean cruises in the "Premium" category
range from lows of around $100/night plus air fare for inside
